The Georg Fischer malleable iron plug with one machined face 595 galvanized is engineered to deliver a dependable, hermetic mechanical seal for terminating threaded connection ports in commercial, industrial, and municipal piping installations. Produced from decarburised annealed whiteheart malleable cast iron conforming to EN-GJMW-400-5 under EN 1562 and Design Symbol A, this threaded plug provides robust mechanical strength and dimensional precision under thermal and pressure fluctuations. Unlike conventional taper pipe plugs that generate a seal via thread deformation, the Fig. 595 features a parallel cylindrical fastening thread according to EN ISO 228-1 tolerance class B across dimensions from 1/2 inch to 1 inch (G 1/2 B, G 3/4 B, and G 1 B). Fluid tightness is established by axial compression between the integrated machined flat shoulder face and the mating female connection face using an elastomeric or engineered flat sealing gasket. The hot-dip galvanised surface treatment exceeds standard coating thickness benchmarks under EN 10242, ensuring complete corrosion resistance against aggressive atmospheric environments, cooling fluids, and potable water systems free of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. To facilitate rapid alignment and firm tightening during pre-assembly or field installation, the component incorporates a raised square external drive head sized at 11 mm for 1/2 inch, 17 mm for 3/4 inch, and 19 mm for 1 inch fittings, which distributes tightening torque uniformly without distorting the precision-machined collar. Designed for versatile operational reliability, the fitting sustains working pressures up to 25 bar across temperatures between -20 degrees Celsius and 120 degrees Celsius, and up to 20 bar at temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius, making it an essential end-closure solution for water, heating, non-hazardous gas, and industrial distribution lines.
