The Georg Fischer malleable iron elbow 90 degrees Type 92 provides a highly dependable directional change for rigid industrial and building services piping systems. Manufactured exclusively from decarburised annealed whiteheart malleable cast iron grade EN-GJMW-400-5 in full compliance with EN 10242 and ISO 49 Design Symbol A, this 90 degrees fitting features equal nominal sizing with an internal parallel thread Rp and an external taper thread R in accordance with EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1. Threaded joint sealing relies on metallic compression along the 1:16 taper external geometry engaging the parallel female thread, creating an exceptionally robust, pressure-tight seal when paired with suitable thread sealants such as PTFE tape, hemp, or anaerobic jointing compounds. To deliver superior corrosion protection across challenging operating environments, the fitting undergoes a premium hot-dip galvanisation process with high-purity zinc, achieving a uniform coating exceeding the standard requirement of 500 grams per square metre (approximately 70 micrometres thickness), making it safe and compliant for potable drinking water installations as well as non-potable media. Built to withstand demanding mechanical loads including tensile, compressive, and vibrational stresses, the component reliably accommodates media operating parameters ranging from 25 bar between minus 20 degrees Celsius and 120 degrees Celsius, to 20 bar at elevated temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius. The elbow Type 92 is engineered for seamless integration into distribution lines for treated water, natural and liquefied petroleum gases, compressed air systems, heating and cooling closed loops, as well as general industrial utility piping, offering long-term structural integrity and precise alignment when assembling threaded pipe networks.
