The Georg Fischer ELGEF Plus PE100 electrofusion end cap kit is engineered for the permanent, pressure-tight termination of high-density polyethylene (PEHD / PE100) piping systems. As an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, BigWeld supplies this modular end cap assembly for demanding utility distribution networks and industrial process piping. The kit combines a high-density polyethylene spigot cap with a standard ELGEF Plus electrofusion coupler, providing an engineered closing solution for pipeline extensions, test sections, and branch terminations across nominal outside diameters from d75 mm to d225 mm.

Manufactured from 100% virgin, PE100+ Association approved polyethylene resin (black RAL 9005), the fitting exhibits exceptional resistance to chemical corrosion, environmental stress cracking, and ultraviolet degradation. The system offers an operating temperature span from -50 degrees C to +60 degrees C, maintaining superior impact strength with a Charpy notched impact rating of 83 kJ/m² at 23 degrees C and 13 kJ/m² at -40 degrees C. Designed for SDR11 pipe geometry, the end cap kit is rated for continuous operating pressures up to 16 bar for water conveyance and 10 bar for combustible gas networks, adhering strictly to EN 12201 and EN 1555 design standards.

The electrofusion coupler component features 4 mm welding pin connectors and integrated limited-path fusion indicators that provide clear visual verification of completed melt cycles. Standardised barcode labeling ensures full integration with Track & Trace recording systems and automated universal electrofusion welding units. With a high material yield stress of 25 N/mm² and an engineered tensile modulus of 900 N/mm², the fusion joint achieves homogenous material continuity that matches pipe strength, eliminating mechanical weak points and guaranteeing maintenance-free service life exceeding 50 to 100 years.
