The Georg Fischer ELGEF Plus PE100 tapping saddle with 360-degree rotatable outlet and integrated Gas-Stop system is engineered for safe, under-pressure branch connections on pressurized polyethylene gas distribution mains. Designed for main pipe diameters ranging from d63 mm to d250 mm in SDR11 pressure ratings, the assembly incorporates an integrated cutter mechanism that permits clean tapping of live mains without gas leakage or service interruption. The integrated Pipelife Gas-Stop safety cartridge provides automated excess flow shut-off protection, stopping downstream supply in the event of pipe rupture or critical line severance while preserving system integrity through an engineered overflow orifice mechanism. With a fully rotatable 360-degree branch outlet, installation crews can orient the service line connection at any required lateral or vertical angle within constrained trench conditions, drastically reducing pipe bending stress and eliminating additional electrofusion elbows. The saddle body is injection-moulded from premium virgin PE100 resin, complete with a matching lower clamping part that ensures precise alignment and uniform radial clamping force during the fusion process. Welding reliability is governed by embedded heating coils powered through standard 4 mm pin connectors, supported by limited path visual fusion indicators that confirm successful heat transfer and joint completion. The spigot branch features an extended fusion outlet suitable for electrofusion couplers and transition fittings, while the internal cutting tower is protected by an O-ring-sealed screw cap that guarantees permanent bubble-tight sealing against fugitive emissions. Certified for low-pressure gas networks operating from 25 mbar up to 1 bar, the electrofusion tapping saddle delivers maximum utility protection, zero corrosion risk, high mechanical ductility, and long-term operating safety across municipal utility infrastructure.
