The Georg Fischer MSA 340 is a high-performance electrofusion welding unit for jointing PE and PP pipes and fittings in utilities, water treatment and marine installations. The voltage-controlled output delivers 8–48 V AC with a maximum fusion current of 100 A and covers electrofusion fittings from d20 to d315 mm, while the working range listed for the machine is d20–d1400 mm. Mains input is 230/115 V AC and the suggested power generator is 3.5 kVA, or 5.0 kVA for fittings above d200 mm.

Fusion data is read with a barcode scanner or entered manually, and every joint is documented in full: ISO 12176-4 traceability data, operator badge ID, job codes and GPS coordinates recorded automatically in each fusion record. The internal memory stores up to 1000 protocols in PDF and CSV format, transferred through the USB Type-A port. Configurable, administrator-protected menus allow the workflow to be set from a basic sequence to fully detailed site documentation, so the same unit suits both short service jobs and audited pipeline projects.

Automatic energy output compensation corrects the fusion energy against ambient temperature between -10 and +45 degrees, keeping weld quality consistent through the working day. The aluminium enclosure is rated IP65 and carries a mains electrical switch; 4 m mains and 4 m fusion cables and angle adapters of 4.0 mm and 4.7 mm are included, with an operating weight of approximately 19 kg.
