The Georg Fischer MSA 4.0 is a high-performance electrofusion unit engineered for jointing polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) pressure piping systems in utility networks, gas distribution, water treatment and industrial installations. Advanced inverter technology delivers voltage-controlled fusion across an output range of 8 to 48 V, with a maximum fusion current of 110 A. The unit runs from a 230 V mains supply (190 V to 265 V, 50 to 60 Hz) or from a 3.5 kVA jobsite generator, ensuring stable energy delivery to electrofusion couplers and fittings.

Built for complete quality assurance, the MSA 4.0 meets ISO 12176-4 traceability requirements. Every joint is recorded automatically with operator badge ID, job codes and GPS coordinates for pipeline mapping. Fusion parameters are entered manually or read with the integrated long-range barcode scanner for 1D and 2D QR codes, and the internal memory stores up to 5000 protocols. Bluetooth connectivity links the unit to the dedicated Georg Fischer application for remote process monitoring and wireless record collection, while the USB Type-A port exports welding protocols in PDF and BIN format.

The die-cast aluminium enclosure is rated Class 1 / IP 65 for dependable operation on site between -20 degrees C and +50 degrees C. Active cooling allows consecutive fusion cycles without thermal delays, automatic energy compensation adjusts the cycle to the ambient temperature, and the cooling time is indicated on the graphical LCD display with adjustable contrast and 27 languages. Dimensions are 280 x 480 x 220 mm, weight approximately 12.8 kg.
