The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 4.0 adaptor union PE/ABS provides a high-integrity, demountable transition between pre-insulated PE100 piping systems and ABS pipework across metric dimensions from d32 mm (DN25) up to d63 mm (DN50). Engineered specifically for industrial refrigeration, secondary cooling circuits, HVAC applications, and process installations in food and beverage facilities, this fitting is rated for a continuous operating pressure of 10 bar (PN10). The multi-material assembly features a PE100 SDR11 spigot union end, an ABS union bush designed for solvent cement socket jointing, an ABS union nut, an internal EPDM O-ring seal, and factory-matched insulation half shells. Jointing on the polyethylene side is executed through the metric SDR11 PE100 spigot end, enabling full compatibility with COOL-FIT electrofusion fittings, while the opposing ABS bush facilitates cold solvent cement welding to plastic lines or equipment adapters. Tightening the ABS union nut compresses the durable EPDM O-ring between precision-profiled seating surfaces, delivering an airtight, leak-proof mechanical joint capable of accommodating thermal fluctuations and system vibrations. The supplied insulation half shells completely encapsulate the assembled union body and fastening nut, preserving continuous thermal efficiency across the joint interface. This vapor-tight barrier prevents ambient moisture migration, surface condensation, and external frost accumulation when carrying chilled water, glycol solutions, or secondary refrigerants at temperatures down to -50 degrees Celsius. In addition, the separable union design allows rapid component decoupling, routine maintenance, and equipment servicing without the need for destructive cutting of insulated piping runs.
