The Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0 coupler is a factory pre-insulated electrofusion fitting engineered for chilled water distribution, building HVAC circuits, industrial refrigeration, and process cooling applications. Manufactured with an inner core pipe made of PE100 rated for PN16 at SDR11, the component provides robust in-line jointing across dimensions from d32 mm to d140 mm while preserving continuous thermal protection and hydraulic integrity. The structure incorporates an insulating layer of halogen-free, closed-cell GF HE rigid foam with a low thermal conductivity rating of λ ≤ 0.022 W/mK, protected externally by an impact-resistant black outer jacket designed to endure demanding mechanical environments. An integral functional element of the fitting is the integrated elastomeric sealing lip located at the socket entry, which compresses firmly against the jacket of the adjoining COOL-FIT pipe to create an immediate, permanent vapor barrier and moisture-tight seal without requiring silicone, mastics, glue, or heat-shrink sleeves. Jointing is completed through embedded electrofusion heating wires powered via standardized connector pins, supported by an encoded barcode for guided welding and raised pop-up fusion indicators for direct visual and tactile inspection of joint execution. By providing an efficient 3-in-1 bonded construction of media pipe, insulation, and outer protective jacket, the fitting eliminates condensation risks, eliminates thermal bridging, and safeguards secondary cooling fluid loops operating within a temperature range of 0 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius.
