Georg Fischer COOL-FIT 2.0 / 4.0 fixed points are engineered structural anchor assemblies designed to absorb and safely transfer axial thermal expansion and contraction loads from pre-insulated chilled water pipe networks into the primary building structure or external steel support framework. Composed of high-performance electrofusion weld tapes and precision-engineered metal pipe brackets, this system creates a rigid, permanent, and shear-resistant joint directly onto the outer protective PE jacket of the piping. During the installation phase, the included heavy-duty pipe brackets provide the calibrated radial clamping force necessary to maintain optimal fusion pressure across the weld zone, subsequently functioning as structural anchor collars that deliver mechanical stability throughout system operation. Fusion is performed using standard 220 V electrofusion units or Georg Fischer MSA automated welding machines (such as the MSA 2.x, MSA 4.x, and MSA 250 through MSA 400 series), with simultaneous parallel welding of both electrofusion tapes enabled via a dedicated Y-cable assembly to streamline installation times. Engineered for outer jacket diameters ranging from D75 mm to D355 mm across both the COOL-FIT 2.0 and COOL-FIT 4.0 product lines (accommodating internal PE100 carrier pipes from d32 mm up to d250 mm), the fixed point assembly accommodates axial reaction forces up to 10.0 kN. By securing the piping without piercing the continuous outer casing or compressing the internal foam insulation, the assembly preserves full vapor tightness, eliminates cold bridges, and protects chillers, valves, and header manifolds from mechanical stress in commercial air conditioning, data center cooling, and industrial process refrigeration systems.
