The Georg Fischer ELGEF Plus DUO-BLOC branch tee kit is an engineered electrofusion tapping solution designed for creating branching connections on pressurized polyethylene mains without interrupting service. Suitable for water distribution networks up to 16 bar and combustible gas networks up to 10 bar, this PE100 SDR11 system integrates an internal cutting tool that drills directly through the pipe wall under full operational pressure. The DUO-BLOC construction incorporates a secondary sealing collar and an outlet spigot that can be rotated 360 degrees prior to final welding, allowing complete alignment flexibility on congested job sites.

Manufactured from high-density virgin PE100 resin in RAL 9005 black, the tapping tee delivers exceptional resistance to crack propagation, electrochemical corrosion, and aggressive soil conditions. The embedded heating elements are protected against physical displacement during mounting, featuring standard 4 mm connector pins compatible with automated electrofusion control units. Clear, limited-path fusion indicators pop out during the fusion cycle, offering immediate visual confirmation of correct energy transfer and joint completion. Complete batch identification and Track & Trace barcodes are provided on each unit to support regulatory asset documentation.

Engineered according to EN 12201-3 for potable water infrastructure and EN 1555-3 for natural gas distribution, this branch saddle kit ensures a certified service life of 100 years. The integrated drill cutter is operated with a standard hexagonal key, retaining the pipe coupon inside the cutter sleeve to prevent swarf or debris from contaminating downstream media. Once tapping is completed, the upper threaded cap is sealed with an internal elastomer O-ring, providing primary mechanical sealing reinforced by an electrofusion dome cap for permanent, maintenance-free, homogeneous containment.
