The Georg Fischer iJoint 45-degree elbow with threaded male off-take is an engineered polypropylene compression fitting designed for direction changes and threaded transitions in pressurized water supply networks. Manufactured by GF Piping Systems, this fitting connects metric polyethylene pipes (PE 80, PE 100, PEX, and PEX-a) directly to threaded equipment, valves, or female threaded components via an integrated ISO 7-1 (DIN EN 10226) conical male thread. Rated for a maximum operating pressure of 16 bar (PN16) across water temperatures from -10 °C to +45 °C, it delivers long-term mechanical reliability without metal corrosion.

Engineered for fast, reliable site assembly, the iJoint system utilizes an advanced push-fit mechanical design. The pipe can be inserted directly through the pre-assembled blue nut and internal components without dismantling the fitting. Sealing is achieved using a factory-lubricated, food-grade EPDM lip gasket that provides reliable hydraulic containment even on ovalized, undersized, or scratched pipe surfaces. An internal polyacetal (POM) split gripping ring firmly grips the outer pipe surface under pressure surges and tensile stresses, delivering exceptional pull-out restraint and water hammer resistance.

The fitting body and nut are manufactured from UV-stabilized polypropylene impact copolymer (PP-B), ensuring high impact strength, resistance to external environmental degradation, and complete chemical neutrality against potable water and soil minerals. The 45-degree angle reduces local pressure loss and hydraulic turbulence compared to 90-degree turns, optimizing flow efficiency across utility water mains, house connections, agricultural irrigation systems, golf courses, pressure sewage lines, and industrial cooling circuits.
