The Georg Fischer DIASTAR Ten ABS FO diaphragm valve is a pneumatically operated flow control and shut-off valve engineered for industrial cooling, chilled water circuits, and water treatment systems. Operating on a Fail-Safe-to-Open (FO) normally open mechanism, this valve utilises pneumatic pilot pressure to close and an internal spring return to reopen upon air loss. Built around an aerodynamically optimised ABS valve body, it incorporates a central housing nut that replaces traditional four-bolt bonnets. This geometry eliminates dead zones and doubles the flow capacity (Kv) relative to predecessor models, reducing overall pressure drop across process pipelines.

The pneumatic actuator housing is moulded from glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF), delivering high mechanical durability and resistance to corrosive industrial atmospheres. The actuator head features a rotating pneumatic air feed that indexes in 90 degrees intervals, simplifying hose routing in dense pipe manifolds. Internal sealing is ensured by an EPDM diaphragm, providing bubble-tight shut-off up to 10 bar (PN10) at 20 degrees Celsius. The non-corrosive ABS body provides superior impact resistance even at low operating temperatures, ideal for chilled secondary coolant distribution.

Manufactured with metric solvent cement spigots to EN 558 face-to-face dimensions, the unit connects directly into metric ABS pipework using Tangit ABS adhesive. Integrated stainless steel mounting inserts located on the body base enable secure pipe clamping without inducing point stress on the plastic. The DIASTAR Ten FO series covers sizes from d20 (DN15) to d63 (DN50), offering process engineers a dependable, automated diaphragm valve solution.
