The Georg Fischer e-DIASTAR Type 514 is an electrically actuated true union diaphragm valve built for automated flow control and tight shut-off in demanding industrial piping systems. The body is moulded in unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) and rated PN10, combining the linear flow profile of GF diaphragm technology with a compact multiturn electric actuator. BigWeld supplies the valve in metric sizes d32 and d63 mm to European process installations as an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, an efficient answer for chemical handling and water treatment duties where metallic valves fail.

The multiturn actuator runs on a universal supply of 100 to 230 V, 50 to 60 Hz. The drive unit carries an integrated heating element that prevents internal condensation and an emergency manual override for operation during commissioning or power interruption. Factory-fitted Open and Close position feedback limit switches report valve status directly to supervisory control architectures and PLCs.

The true union design allows radial installation and maintenance without cutting the surrounding pipeline, while stainless steel mounting inserts in the valve base provide rigid, vibration-proof anchoring to support brackets and keep mechanical strain away from the solvent cement sockets. The PVC-U body resists inorganic acids, alkalis and saline solutions at fluid temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius, while the electronic actuator is rated for ambient temperatures between -25 degrees and 70 degrees Celsius.

The modular actuator platform accepts optional add-ons: a fail-safe battery return unit, an electronic position controller for modulating service, a monitoring board and a Profibus DP bus interface. Metric pipe connections are completed by solvent cementing with Tangit cements for long-term joint integrity.
