The DIASTAR 10 PVC-U diaphragm valve from Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) is a pneumatically actuated shut-off and control valve with fail-safe to close (FC / normally closed) action, engineered for industrial flow control and aggressive chemical media. The unplasticised polyvinyl chloride body is rated for 10 bar (PN10) at 20 degrees Celsius single-sided working pressure and the range covers diameters from d16 to d63 mm. An integrated pre-stressed return spring pack closes the valve automatically whenever control air pressure is lost.

Construction follows the central union nut body layout used on the manual diaphragm valve range, so the valve can be installed quickly, dismounted radially from the pipe run and serviced — diaphragm replacement included — without distorting the adjacent pipework. The non-corrosive thermoplastic body provides chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and saline solutions, while the PVC-U compound in dark grey RAL 7011 delivers the mechanical integrity required for continuous industrial duty.

Internal geometry and an optimised weir seat give double the flow rate of earlier diaphragm valve generations, lowering pressure drop and pumping energy while keeping a highly linear flow characteristic suited to accurate throttling and dosing. The actuator housing carries control air supply ports that rotate in 90 degrees increments, allowing tidy pneumatic tubing routing on compact skids and process manifolds, and the pre-tensioned spring assemblies maintain a consistent seating force on the diaphragm with safe, simple actuator servicing.

An accessory interface on the actuator accepts position feedback switches, pilot solenoid valves and electro-pneumatic positioners for complete integration into industrial automation networks.
