The Type 038 Lug-style metal butterfly valve is built for automated flow control on industrial and utility lines, supplied with a pneumatic Fail-Safe to Close (FC) actuator that drives the disc shut whenever the compressed air supply is lost. Body and disc are GGG40 ductile iron, fully coated with polyamide Rilsan for corrosion resistance, low friction and protection against abrasive media. Face-to-face dimensions follow EN 558 row 20, so the valve drops straight into existing metallic or thermoplastic piping. The assembly combines a heavy-duty mechanical construction with reliable pneumatic actuation for process circuits where plant safety requires immediate, positive shut-off.

The actuator interface conforms to DIN EN ISO 5211, giving a rigid coupling, optimal torque transfer and actuator removal without dismounting the valve body from the line. Torque is carried by a single-piece stainless steel stem (DIN 1.4021 / AISI 420) with a precision-machined square drive across the full DN50 to DN300 range. The full Lug body with threaded bolt lugs allows direct mounting between counter-flanges drilled to EN PN6, PN10 and ANSI 125/150, and permits disconnection of the downstream pipe section while the upstream line stays under pressure.

Pressure capability is graded by diameter: up to 10 bar for DN50 to DN200 (outer diameters 63 mm to 225 mm), 6 bar for DN250 (280 mm) and 4 bar for DN300 (315 mm). Interchangeable elastomeric liners cover different chemical and thermal duties: EPDM for general water and heating loops, DVGW certified EPDM for drinking water installations, FKM for aggressive chemical fluids, and NBR for hydrocarbon, oil and gas media.
