This industrial PVC-U air release and foot valve is engineered for dual-function hydraulic management in pressurized piping systems, operating efficiently as a kinetic air venting valve or as a pump suction foot check valve. Manufactured from high-grade unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), the unit provides exceptional mechanical rigidity, dimensional stability, and long-term resistance against chemical degradation. Designed with metric solvent cement socket ends conforming to EN ISO 1452-4 and DIN 8063 standards, this valve covers diameters from d16 mm up to d90 mm, maintaining a continuous nominal pressure rating of PN16 (16 bar) at a reference water temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.

In fluid handling infrastructure, the valve performs essential system protection tasks. Configured for air release, it automatically exhausts entrapped air pockets during initial pipeline filling and prevents vacuum formation during system drainage, mitigating destructive water hammer surges and negative pressure collapse. When configured as a foot valve on the intake side of centrifugal pumps, the internal sealing assembly prevents backflow, maintaining pump priming and isolating the suction line from reverse drainage. The smooth internal bore minimizes hydraulic friction losses, while the corrosion-proof PVC-U body prevents scaling, rust, and biological fouling typically encountered in metal valves.

The non-conductive PVC-U material exhibits superior chemical compatibility with potable water, saline solutions, agricultural chemicals, and diluted acids or alkalis across an operating temperature range up to 45 degrees Celsius, with corresponding thermal pressure de-rating. Joints are assembled using standard solvent cementing techniques, creating a homogeneous, leak-tight weld between pipe and socket.
