The Georg Fischer ABS check valve type 561 provides dependable, spring-free backflow prevention for vertical industrial piping installations. Manufactured from high-grade Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), this non-return valve is engineered specifically for chilled water distribution, industrial cooling, water treatment, and marine applications where metallic components corrode. Supplied across Europe by BigWeld, an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, type 561 combines reliable mechanical design with the superior low-temperature impact strength of ABS thermoplastics.

At the core of the type 561 valve is a flow-optimised, double-guided closing cone. This advanced hydrodynamic geometry ensures stable, vibration-free operation even under elevated flow velocities and turbulent process conditions. Because the closing mechanism operates without a metallic spring, the medium remains entirely isolated from metal contact, eliminating the risk of spring fatigue, rust, or fluid contamination. The integrated EPDM sealing element delivers reliable, drop-tight shut-off starting from a hydrostatic head of just 2 metres (0.2 bar column of water).

Engineered with a full true union construction, the valve features metric solvent cement socket ends from d20 (DN10) up to d110 (DN100). The installation face-to-face dimension is identical to the Georg Fischer type 546 ball valve series, allowing engineers to interchange valves within existing modular skids or pipe layouts without altering piping dimensions. The robust ABS union nuts permit fast radial installation, swift inline servicing, and seamless replacement of internal components without cutting the pipeline.

The ABS type 561 check valve is rated for a nominal working pressure of PN10 (10 bar at 20 degrees Celsius). Jointing is executed through cold chemical welding using Tangit ABS solvent cement and cleaner, yielding a permanent, homogenous joint that resists mechanical stress and thermal cycling within chilled water and process cooling lines.
