The Type 044 wafer butterfly valve is an industrial quarter-turn valve engineered for high-integrity process isolation and flow control in aggressive chemical environments and industrial utility lines. Built with a robust ductile iron ASTM A395 body and an advanced fluoropolymer sealing barrier, this valve provides dependable shut-off across working pressures from vacuum up to 16 bar (PN16). Its wafer profile allows compact installation between metric pipeline flanges, accommodating pipe diameters from d63 mm up to d160 mm. Designed for rigorous operating regimes where standard elastomeric seals fail, the Type 044 ensures process safety, low operating torque, and broad chemical compatibility.

At the core of the valve’s chemical resistance is a specialized sealing and disc architecture. The disc features an internal stainless steel core completely encapsulated in perfluoroalkoxy (PFA), combining mechanical rigidity with chemical resistance against corrosive acids, alkalis, and solvents. The internal seating uses a virgin polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) liner supported by an energizing silicone elastomer backing ring. This resilient silicone cushion provides continuous radial force against the PFA disc edge, maintaining bubble-tight bi-directional sealing from vacuum to 16 bar while compensating for thermal expansion without media contact.

Standardized actuation and installation geometry ensure seamless integration into industrial piping installations. The valve conforms to standardized face-to-face dimensions in accordance with EN 558 row 20 for standard industrial interchangeability. For automated control, the integrated DIN EN ISO 5211 top mounting flange permits direct assembly of pneumatic or electric quarter-turn actuators. For manual operation, the unit is equipped with an ergonomic hand lever featuring a 10-position indexable locking plate. This detent mechanism enables precise flow throttling and secure locking in set positions, preventing accidental displacement in operating systems.
