The Georg Fischer SYGEF Standard reducer SDR21 PN16 is an engineered polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) butt fusion fitting manufactured for high-integrity transitions between varying pipe diameters in demanding industrial, chemical, and ultrapure fluid distribution networks. Produced from unpigmented, opaque PVDF homopolymer, the reducer delivers exceptional resistance to highly aggressive media, including concentrated non-oxidizing acids, oxidizing acids, halogen compounds, and organic solvents, while operating reliably across an extensive working temperature envelope from -20 degrees Celsius to 140 degrees Celsius. Rated for nominal operating pressures up to 16 bar at 20 degrees Celsius within SDR21 piping geometries, the fitting is precision injection-moulded to maintain a controlled bore alignment and a smooth internal surface finish with a roughness average of Ra ≤ 0.5 µm, which significantly reduces flow disturbance, mitigates particle entrapment, and inhibits biofilm adhesion. Engineered specifically for industrial purity and validated process stability, the reducer is fully compatible with infrared (IR Plus) fusion, bead and crevice-free (BCF Plus) fusion, and conventional butt fusion technologies according to DVS 2207-15 guidelines. Each component is capped and bagged to maintain manufacturing cleanliness, and is permanently embossed with complete manufacturing data—including lot number, material grade, pressure class, and dimensional rating—to guarantee complete traceability from production to jobsite installation. Conforming to ISO 10931 manufacturing criteria and meeting the rigorous physiological safety demands of FDA 21 CFR 177.2510 and USP Class VI, this component is ideally suited for deionized (DI) water lines, pharmaceutical purified water loops, and chemical processing systems subjected to periodic hot water, steam, or ozone sanitisation.
