The Georg Fischer Type 578 PVC-C lug-style butterfly valve is an engineered industrial solution designed for reliable isolation and flow regulation in systems conveying aggressive chemicals and elevated-temperature media. Built for demanding process environments, the valve combines a high-performance chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C) disc with a rigid glass-fiber reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF30) outer housing. Integrated threaded lug inserts made of stainless steel 1.4404 (316L) permit direct flanged installation, enabling dependable end-of-line service and downstream piping disconnections under full PN10 working pressure at 20 degrees Celsius.

Equipped with a non-wetted stainless steel 1.4404 shaft and double-sided profile seals in EPDM or FKM, the valve ensures long-term bi-directional tightness. The post-chlorinated polymer structure provides high chemical resistance against concentrated acids, alkalis, and industrial salts up to 80 degrees Celsius under derated operating conditions. The optimized sealing geometry lowers operating torque, reducing wear on the elastomeric seat during frequent throttling or isolation cycles.

Standardized automation is facilitated through an integrated interface compliant with ISO 5211, enabling direct mounting of reduction gearboxes, manual levers, pneumatic cylinders, or electric actuators. Compatible with metric EN 1092-1 PN10 and ISO 7005 flange connections, the Type 578 is ideal for chemical processing, industrial wastewater treatment, and surface finishing lines.
