The Georg Fischer Fuseal 45-degree Double Reducing Wye S x S x S x S 8-12" is a heavy-duty polypropylene fitting engineered for high-volume corrosive chemical drainage and industrial DWV (drain, waste, and vent) networks. Specifically configured to integrate two opposing 45-degree branch lines into an 8-inch, 10-inch, or 12-inch main drainage header, this fitting provides streamlined dual lateral confluence while reducing flow turbulence, preventing solids accumulation, and preserving system hydraulic efficiency. Available in both flame retardant (PPFR) and non-flame retardant (PPNFR) formulations, the fitting accommodates demanding subterranean and exposed indoor installations across chemical processing plants, life science facilities, institutional research laboratories, pharmaceutical production lines, and hospital waste environments. Operating on the Fuseal LD electrofusion joining method, each socket joint utilizes a dedicated resistance heating coil connected to a compatible fusion power unit, generating controlled thermal energy that melts the mating resin surfaces to produce a monolithic, leak-proof weld as robust as the parent piping. The polypropylene material delivers outstanding resistance to corrosive media, including concentrated alkalis, mineral acids, alcohols, solvents, and aggressive aqueous salt solutions, completely resisting scaling, pitting, chemical etching, and galvanic electrolysis. Thermally rated for continuous operating temperatures up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit (82 degrees Celsius) and intermittent discharge exposure up to 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius), the assembly safely handles boiling water dump cycles and elevated exothermic chemical reactions. For pressurized drainage segments, including vacuum drainage, lift pumping, and intermittent pressurized discharge configurations, the fitting provides dependable structural integrity up to 50 psi. Formulated with heat-stabilized resin and protective pigmentation, it maintains exceptional dimensional stability and shields above-ground line segments from ultraviolet degradation, offering a long-term, maintenance-free alternative to failing metallic drainage infrastructure.
