The Georg Fischer ecoFIT adaptor union with male thread R is an injection-moulded socket fusion transition fitting designed for demountable connections between high-density polyethylene pipework and threaded metal equipment or pipelines. As an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, BigWeld supplies this hybrid fitting for industrial fluid conveyance, water treatment plants and utility distribution systems where every plastic-to-metal junction has to deliver mechanical strength, leak tightness and easy service access.

The polyethylene union end is moulded in PE80 to metric socket fusion dimensions, with an SDR 11 wall geometry rated for a nominal working pressure of PN10 (10 bar at 20 degrees Celsius). The threaded bush and the union nut are machined from dezincification-resistant brass, which keeps the metal interface stable against selective corrosion and mechanical load over long service periods.

The metal side carries a conical male pipe thread R to EN 10226-1 / ISO 7-1, available from R 1/2 inch up to R 2 inch, so pumps, valves, instrumentation and metal manifolds can be coupled directly without introducing bending stress into the plastic line. Sealing inside the union is handled by an NBR nitrile rubber O-ring of approximately 65 Shore hardness, which maintains radial contact under fluctuating pressure and thermal cycling and stays compatible with water, compressed air and non-aggressive industrial liquids. Because the brass nut releases the joint completely, downstream valves and equipment can be isolated, inspected or replaced without cutting or re-welding the PE line; replacement NBR O-rings are referenced individually as spare parts.

The socket fusion adaptor union range covers outside diameters from d20 to d63 mm, corresponding to DN15 through DN50, with nut outside diameters Do between 46 and 104 mm and overall assembly lengths Lmax from 62 to 91 mm. Fusion is carried out with the standard heating-tool socket welding equipment used for the ecoFIT PE system.
