Georg Fischer SYGEF Plus DIASTAR Ten FO diaphragm valves are engineered for ultra-pure water (UPW, WFI, PW) distribution and high-purity chemical processing applications across semiconductor, microelectronics, and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Constructed from virgin high-purity polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF-HP), the pneumatically actuated valve features a fail-safe-to-open (FO) mode of operation, ensuring that the flow passage opens automatically upon loss of pilot control pressure. The actuator integrates a rotatable control air connection adjustable at 90-degree intervals, streamlining pneumatic tubing orientation within compact cleanroom skids and valve manifolds. Engineered with a flow-optimized linear geometry, the valve body delivers up to double the flow rate of predecessor designs, substantially decreasing system pressure drop. The valve assembly utilizes a central housing nut design in place of traditional four-bolt patterns, preventing uneven torquing, eliminating external metal bolt contamination, and providing uniform compression across the PTFE/EPDM diaphragm. True union connections with metric butt fusion spigots facilitate bead and crevice-free (BCF Plus) as well as infrared (IR Plus) welding methods, while enabling straightforward radial maintenance and replacement without disassembling the adjoining pipeline. Manufactured under ISO cleanroom conditions, cleaned with 18-megohm ultrapure water, and double-bagged, the unit ensures minimal elemental and ionic leach-out while maintaining mechanical integrity across aggressive sanitization cycles involving steam, ozone, and hot water.
