The BLUCAST Series X blind flange is a ductile iron end closure used to blank off a flanged outlet, a reserved branch or the end of a spool piece in drinking water, irrigation and utility mains. The plate is cast in EN-GJS-500-7 ductile iron and supplied from DN50 to DN600, with drilling covering both PN10 and PN16 bolt patterns, so a single component serves the two pressure classes most common in buried and above-ground water networks.

Maximum working pressure is 16 bar and the working temperature range is 0 to 80 degrees, which covers potable water and neutral liquids. Corrosion protection follows the BLUCAST factory standard: powder epoxy applied to a minimum thickness of 250 microns in RAL 5015 on the manufacturer's own automatic dip coating lines, WRAS-approved for contact with drinking water. The flange is a solid plate with no moving parts and no retention zones, so once bolted up it remains maintenance free for the service life of the line.

Typical duties include closing future connection points on distribution manifolds and chamber pipework, isolating a branch during staged commissioning, and sealing off sections for pressure testing. Installation is by through-bolting against the mating flange with a flat gasket and a bolt set matched to the counter flange drilling; no welding or site machining is required.
