WAGA MULTI/JOINT 3087 Spigot End Restraint PN16
Data Sheet | Product Range | Instructional Video
The WAGA MULTI/JOINT® 3087 wide-range spigot end restraint adaptor is engineered for tensile-resistant transitions between plain-ended pipes and existing socketed components or mechanical couplings across industrial piping, potable water networks, and gas distribution mains. Designed with a wide tolerance socket on one side and a smooth spigot end on the other, this multi-material fitting accommodates pipe outer diameters with large dimensional variations, enabling secure integration between ductile iron, grey cast iron, steel, PEHD, PVC-U, GRP, and asbestos cement pipelines without requiring specialized transition fittings.
Manufactured from high-grade ductile iron EN-GJS-450-10 (GGG 45) in accordance with EN 1563, the adaptor body offers exceptional mechanical strength with a minimum tensile strength of 450 N/mm². Comprehensive corrosion protection is delivered by a fusion-bonded Resicoat® RT 9000 R4 epoxy powder coating applied to a minimum dry film thickness of 250 μm according to GSK quality guidelines. This red-brown (RAL 3011) coating demonstrates zero porosity at 3 kV spark testing, high impact resistance up to 20 Joules, and broad chemical stability across pH 2 to pH 13, making it fully suitable for aggressive soil conditions and direct underground burial.
Tensile restraint is achieved through the integrated Uni/Fikser gripping system, utilizing high-grade AISI 316 (A4) stainless steel gripping teeth embedded in polyoxymethylene (POM) wedge carriers. This mechanism provides progressive mechanical locking against pipe pull-out under dynamic operating pressures up to 16 Bar (PN16) while permitting an angular deflection of up to 8 degrees. Sealing integrity is maintained across potable water and gas media by specialized EPDM or NBR elastomer profiles compliant with EN 681-1 and EN 682. Stainless steel fasteners feature a dry Lubo® anti-friction coating that prevents thread galling and ensures precise, repeatable torque during installation and future servicing.
