The Waga MULTI/JOINT 3157 Plus reduced flange adaptor restraint is a wide-range fitting that connects a plain-ended pipe directly to flanged equipment while reducing the nominal diameter within a single component. It is used on potable water, wastewater and gas distribution lines, joining valves, pumps and flow meters to pipes of differing material and outside diameter without a dedicated transition piece. The mechanical restraint mechanism absorbs end loads, so thrust blocks are not required, and it accommodates up to 43 mm of outside diameter variation within one nominal size. Sizes run DN 40 to DN 500 at PN 10 and PN 16, with reduction ranges from DN 200‐225 up to DN 300‐350.

Body and clamping flange are cast in ductile iron EN-GJS-450-10 (GGG 45) to EN 1563, with a minimum tensile strength of 450 N/mm², 0.2% proof stress of 310 N/mm² and at least 10% elongation at break. Corrosion protection is a factory-applied Resicoat RT 9000 R4 fusion-bonded epoxy powder coating over a surface grit-blasted to class SA 2½, laid down at a minimum 250 µm in accordance with GSK, red brown RAL 3011. The film is chemically resistant between pH 2 and pH 13, shows zero porosity under 3 kV spark testing and exceeds 720 hours in salt spray.

Sealing and gripping are combined in one carrier ring: an elastomeric gasket in EPDM to EN 681-1 type WA for potable water, or NBR to EN 682 type GB for gas and hydrocarbons, working with Uni/Fikser gripping teeth in AISI 316 (A4) stainless steel. As the bolts are tightened, the wedge segments bite progressively into the pipe wall and build full tensile restraint against axial pull-out while the gasket holds a bubble-tight seal. Up to 8 degrees of angular deflection per socket compensates for ground movement and pipeline misalignment. Fasteners are A2-70 or A4-80 stainless steel with Lubo dry anti-friction coating against thread galling. The fitting is compatible with ductile and grey cast iron, steel, PE80, PE100 and PE100-RC, PVC, asbestos cement and GRP pipe.
