The Waga MULTI/JOINT 3207 Plus wide-range end cap provides a fully restrained, leak-tight blind termination for transport mains, distribution networks and industrial piping installations. Engineered by Georg Fischer Waga N.V., this mechanical fitting seals and isolates open pipe ends from DN 50 to DN 400 at PN16, with no thrust blocks or hot works required on site. Each nominal size covers an outer diameter span of up to 43 mm, so a single cap suits ductile iron, grey cast iron, carbon and stainless steel, PVC-U, PVC-O, HDPE (PE80, PE100, PE100-RC), GRP and asbestos cement pipe.

Body and end flange are cast in ductile iron EN-GJS-450-10 (GGG 45) to EN 1563, giving a minimum tensile strength of 450 N/mm² and a 0.2% proof stress of 310 N/mm². Corrosion protection is a fusion-bonded Resicoat RT 9000 R4 epoxy powder coating, applied at a minimum dry film thickness of 250 µm over SA 2.5 grit-blasted surfaces in line with GSK guidelines. The coating is rated for chemical exposure between pH 2 and pH 13 and shows cathodic disbondment below 10 mm, which suits buried and above-ground utility pipelines.

The progressive restraint uses stainless steel AISI 316 (A4) Uni/Fikser gripping teeth carried in POM wedge segments and polyamide topple segments. As line pressure or axial pulling force rises, the teeth engage deeper into the pipe wall and hold the termination against pull-out up to the nominal working pressure of 16 bar for water. The flexible sealing assembly accepts up to 8 degrees of angular misalignment per socket, absorbing ground settlement and pipeline deflection without loss of tightness. Elastomer selection follows the medium: EPDM to EN 681-1 type WA for potable water, NBR to EN 682 type GB for gas and hydrocarbons.
