This Georg Fischer PVC-U threaded central offtake tee forms a 90-degree branch in metric industrial piping systems. The body is moulded from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) in standard grey RAL 7011 and combines two metric solvent cement sockets along the straight run with a parallel female thread (Rp to ISO 7-1) on the central branch. That branch carries an external stainless steel reinforcement ring, which absorbs radial tension and prevents stress cracking when a male threaded component is tightened into it.

Rated PN16, 16 bar at a reference temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, the fitting is produced with run sockets from d16 mm to d63 mm and branch threads from 3/8 inch to 2 inch. PVC-U is immune to galvanic corrosion, scaling and electrolytic decomposition and offers high chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and saline solutions, which suits the tee to chemical dosing and distribution lines, water treatment plants, process loops, cooling circuits and utility piping. Pressure de-rating applies above the 20 degrees Celsius reference temperature.

The straight run is jointed by cold solvent welding (socket fusion) in accordance with EN ISO 1452-3: chamfer and deburr the pipe end, clean both surfaces with an appropriate cleaner and apply Tangit PVC-U cement, or Tangit DTX where the medium is chemically aggressive. The parallel Rp thread is sealed with PTFE tape and gives a mechanically sound interface with metal or thermoplastic male threaded parts; thread pastes that attack PVC-U must be avoided. The smooth internal bore keeps friction and head losses low along the run and at the diversion.
