Georg Fischer SYGEF Standard diaphragm valve type 515 delivers linear, contamination-free flow control and reliable isolation for demanding high-purity and aggressive chemical process systems. Precision-moulded from unpigmented polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this manual weir-style valve provides outstanding chemical resistance against concentrated acids, halogens, and aggressive solvents across an operating service temperature range from -20 degrees C to +140 degrees C. Engineered with an optimized internal flow geometry, type 515 achieves up to double the flow coefficient of predecessor models, reducing pressure drops while mitigating turbulence across the entire diameter band from d20 to d63 mm (DN15 to DN50). The body construction incorporates an innovative central housing union nut that replaces traditional four-bolt bonnet designs, distributing clamping forces evenly over the diaphragm perimeter and drastically simplifying maintenance and servicing without dismounting the valve body. Actuation is managed through an ergonomic handwheel equipped with an integrated locking mechanism, allowing operators to fix flow positions securely and eliminate accidental or vibrational setpoint drifting. Fluid isolation is maintained by an advanced PTFE diaphragm backed with an elastomeric EPDM cushion, providing clean, non-contaminating chemical inertness and reliable shut-off under system pressure conditions up to PN10. Conforming to EN 558 face-to-face dimensional standards for streamlined inline installation, the body features integrated metric stainless steel threaded mounting inserts for rigid pipe bracket anchoring and supports optional modular feedback units such as self-adjusting electrical position switches.
