The Georg Fischer SYGEF Standard diaphragm valve type 514 combines a high-purity polyvinylidene fluoride body with ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene butt fusion spigots, engineered specifically for high-integrity chemical distribution and ultrapure process media. Designed for SDR21 piping systems with a nominal pressure rating of PN10 across metric dimensions from d20 to d63 mm (DN15 to DN50), this compact weir-type valve incorporates an optimized internal flow geometry that provides double the flow rate of predecessor models while significantly lowering pressure drop. Actuation is managed via an ergonomic manual handwheel featuring a built-in locking mechanism, which secures the desired throttle position against line vibrations and enables precise, repeatable linear flow regulation or zero-leakage shut-off. A key engineering hallmark of the type 514 series is the robust central housing nut replacing the conventional four-screw bonnet assembly; this radial union connection distributes clamping force evenly over the sealing contour and facilitates rapid inline servicing, inspection, or diaphragm replacement without removing the valve body from the pipework. Fluid containment and chemical isolation are secured by a dual-layer PTFE diaphragm backed by an elastomeric EPDM cushion, augmented by internal FKM O-rings, which shields mechanical components from corrosive reagents while accommodating aggressive media including concentrated acids, salts, solvents, and high-purity deionized water. The ECTFE spigot ends ensure seamless integration into thermoplastic piping networks via infrared fusion or standard butt fusion jointing, providing high mechanical rigidity and outstanding resistance within continuous operating temperatures ranging from minus 20 degrees Celsius to 140 degrees Celsius.
