The Georg Fischer SYGEF Standard DIASTAR Ten FO diaphragm valve is an engineered pneumatic process control valve designed for demanding chemical distribution, pharmaceutical purified water loops, and aggressive media handling in industrial piping networks. Operating on a Fail Safe to Open (FO) pneumatic scheme, the unit utilizes compressed air supplied through integrated pilot ports to close the flow path, while internal preloaded spring assemblies automatically return the valve to the fully open state upon control air depletion, maintaining vital line circulation or pressure relief in safety-critical installations. The DIASTAR Ten architecture introduces an innovative central housing nut that replaces traditional four-screw bonnets, establishing uniform circumferential diaphragm compression, eliminating localized stress concentrations, and drastically shortening maintenance cycles. Actuator orientation is further optimized by a rotating control air connection that indexes at 90-degree intervals, enabling clean, low-profile pneumatic tubing runs inside compact skids. Inside the flow geometry, the linear weir body provides up to double the flow coefficient of previous valve generations, substantially decreasing head loss and process fluid turbulence. Moulded from high-grade polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), the body demonstrates exceptional chemical resistance against non-oxidizing acids, aggressive chemicals, and solvents across an operational temperature envelope from minus 20 degrees to 140 degrees Celsius, complemented by an internal surface finish of Ra ≤ 0.5 µm that prevents particulate adhesion and microbial contamination. Fluid containment is governed by high-performance PTFE diaphragms supported by an elastomeric cushion, ensuring hermetic sealing and zero fugitive emissions. Featuring metric spigots for butt fusion, the valve supports jointing via IR Plus infrared fusion, bead and crevice free (BCF Plus) welding, or standard butt welding.
