The Georg Fischer SYGEF Plus diaphragm valve type 317 is engineered for precise flow regulation and dependable isolation in high-purity industrial fluid handling networks. Manufactured from virgin, unpigmented high-purity polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF-HP), the valve features an optimized weir-style body that minimizes dead zones and fluid entrapment while maintaining laminar flow characteristics. Shut-off and throttling are operated via a manual handwheel that actuates a two-piece sealing arrangement consisting of an inert PTFE diaphragm backed by an elastomeric EPDM cushion compliant with FDA standards. Flanged end connections conform to EN 558 face-to-face dimensions, utilizing loose backing flanges on smaller nominal sizes and integrated fixed flanges on larger sizes to provide secure, leak-tight integration into rigid piping assemblies. Produced, cleaned, and evaluated under ISO Class 5 cleanroom conditions using 18 megaohm ultrapure water, the valve complies with strict SEMI F57 requirements for ultra-low particle leaching and internal surface smoothness. The fluoropolymer construction provides chemical resistance against harsh acids, solvents, and oxidizing media across an operational temperature range from minus 20 degrees to plus 140 degrees Celsius. Certified to USP Class VI non-toxicity and meeting ASME BPE, DIBt, and FM-4910 cleanroom material fire-safety standards, this component withstands frequent sanitization routines using clean steam, hot water, ozone, or chemical agents in semiconductor fabrication, pharmaceutical water-for-injection systems, and high-purity deionized water distribution.
