The Georg Fischer SYGEF Plus DIASTAR Ten FC diaphragm valve is an engineered pneumatic flow control solution designed for high-purity fluid processing, ultrapure water distribution (UPW/WFI), and aggressive chemical dosing systems. Operating via a fail-safe-to-close (FC) pneumatic actuator powered by single-side compressed air, the valve automatically shuts down upon loss of control pressure, ensuring critical process safety. The optimized linear flow path delivers up to double the flow coefficient (kv) compared to predecessor models, significantly minimizing pressure drop across high-velocity process lines. Manufactured from high-purity virgin polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF-HP) under ISO Class 5 cleanroom conditions and cleaned with 18 MOhm ultrapure water, the valve body features integral union ends with metric butt fusion spigots compatible with bead and crevice-free (BCF Plus) and infrared (IR Plus) welding technologies. The mechanical construction utilizes a central housing nut instead of traditional four-bolt patterns, maintaining uniform diaphragm clamping, eliminating crevice contamination risks, and allowing rapid online maintenance without removing the valve body from the pipeline. Pneumatic control ports rotate at 90-degree intervals to streamline pneumatic tubing layouts in compact skids and manifold blocks. Sealing is ensured by high-performance PTFE diaphragms backed by EPDM or FKM elastomers with white FKM union O-rings, providing exceptional chemical inertia against aggressive chemicals, hot DI water, and steam sanitization across an operating temperature range from -20 degrees to 140 degrees Celsius.
