The Georg Fischer PROGEF Standard Type 604 pneumatic diaphragm valve in d20 DN15 is engineered for automated process regulation and bubble-tight shut-off in industrial piping systems conveying aggressive fluids. Manufactured from high-grade beta polypropylene homopolymer (beta-PP-H), this compact valve combines high mechanical stiffness, chemical resistance, and thermal endurance. Rated for a nominal operating pressure of PN6 (6 bar) and delivering a flow coefficient kv of 125 l/min at a pressure differential of 1 bar, the Type 604 valve is specifically optimised for water treatment installations, chemical dosing skids, and automated industrial distribution networks.

The valve incorporates a pneumatic actuator integrated within an all-plastic housing made of glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF). Its screwless exterior architecture eliminates exposed metal hardware, preventing external atmospheric corrosion and extending equipment longevity in humid or corrosive chemical environments. The actuator mechanism is available in three distinct control configurations: Fail Safe to Close (FC, utilising internal galvanised steel springs for spring-return closure upon air supply loss), Fail Safe to Open (FO), and Double Acting (DA) for precise pneumatic opening and closure cycles. This pneumatic unit operates cleanly and responsively, delivering reproducible valve positioning across repeated cycling.

Jointing is executed via metric butt fusion spigots configured with true union connections. This true union geometry facilitates radial installation and dismounting directly from the pipeline without cutting the line or inducing mechanical bending stress in surrounding pipe spools. Butt fusion joints provide a homogenous, leak-free connection compatible with standard butt fusion and infrared (IR) fusion machines, preserving complete system pressure ratings. Seal options include high-performance elastomer and fluoropolymer diaphragms in EPDM, FKM, and PTFE/EPDM, ensuring broad media compatibility with acids, alkalis, and deionised water across an operational lifespan designed for 25 years under standard conditions.
