Ductile Iron Dismantling Joint PN16
The Blucast PN16 ductile iron dismantling joint provides longitudinal adjustment and facilitates the rapid installation, alignment, and removal of flanged inline equipment such as gate valves, butterfly valves, check valves, flowmeters, and pump sets in utility and industrial piping networks. By compensating for axial displacement during assembly and routine maintenance, this telescopic fitting prevents mechanical stress on adjacent pipework and connected valve flanges.
Manufactured from high-grade ductile iron EN-GJS-500-7 in accordance with European industrial standards, the dismantling joint features full-face flanges drilled to EN 1092-2 PN16. Complete corrosion protection is provided internally and externally by an electrostatically applied powder epoxy coating with a minimum layer thickness of 250 μm in sky blue (RAL 5015), offering long-term chemical resilience and compliance with international potable water hygiene requirements.
The assembly incorporates high-tensile tie rods and hot-dip galvanized fasteners that transmit axial hydraulic thrust across the flanged connection, ensuring absolute joint stability under operating pressures up to 16 bar. Sealing is achieved via an elastomeric EPDM or NBR profile gasket engineered to deliver continuous zero-leakage performance under thermal expansion, pressure surges, and slight angular deviations. BigWeld supplies these dismantling joints as an authorised Blucast dealer for drinking water distribution, wastewater pumping, irrigation networks, and industrial utility pipelines across Europe.
