The Georg Fischer Type 514 PVC-C diaphragm valve is a manually operated true union process valve for chemical dosing, water treatment and high-temperature industrial fluid handling. The body is moulded in post-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C), agate grey RAL 7038, which resists aggressive acids, alkalis and salt solutions at working temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius under pressure, at a nominal rating of PN10. The integral true union ends with metric solvent cement sockets, d20 to d63 mm, allow the valve to be installed or removed radially without disturbing the adjacent pipe run.

An optimised body geometry gives double the flow rate of conventional diaphragm designs, reducing pressure drop and turbulence. A single central housing nut clamps the bonnet to the body instead of the traditional four-bolt pattern, producing uniform radial surface pressure around the diaphragm sealing contour, avoiding localised stress peaks and shortening diaphragm replacement. The handwheel combines an ergonomic profile, an integrated locking device and an optical position indicator for repeatable flow regulation.

Diaphragms are supplied in high-grade EPDM or as a PTFE/EPDM composite; the PTFE-faced version adds chemical inertness against harsh media, while the elastomer backing preserves elasticity and bubble-tight shut-off. The metric sockets follow ISO 15493 and DIN dimensions and are jointed with approved PVC-C solvent cement. All wetted parts are non-metallic, so internal scaling and external atmospheric corrosion are eliminated. Typical duties are chemical process lines, electroplating and surface treatment, microelectronics and semiconductor production, and demineralised water treatment.
