The Georg Fischer DIASTAR TenPlus PVC-C diaphragm valve is a pneumatically actuated valve for shut-off and control duties on aggressive chemical and industrial process lines. It operates in fail-safe-to-close (FC, normally closed) mode: the pneumatic spring-return actuator closes the valve and isolates the line automatically whenever pilot air pressure is lost, so the process reaches a defined safe state without external power. The valve is supplied with metric solvent cement spigots and face-to-face dimensions according to EN 558, rated for 10 bar (PN10) in sizes from d20 mm up to d63 mm.

The body is manufactured from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C) in agate grey RAL 7038, a compound that combines high mechanical rigidity with thermal stability up to 80 degrees Celsius under pressure and offers superior chemical resistance to aggressive acids, alkalis and salts. The TenPlus generation delivers double the flow capacity of the predecessor models, which lowers the pressure drop across the valve body and improves the flow behaviour of the medium. Shut-off is bidirectional and bubble-tight, with diaphragms available in EPDM or in PTFE/EPDM composite for clean media isolation, long cycle life and reliable chemical compatibility.

Maintenance is based on a single central housing nut instead of conventional bonnet screws, so the actuator can be separated and the diaphragm inspected quickly, without the risk of uneven bolt torque. The pneumatic pilot air connection rotates through 90 degrees, which simplifies tubing routing in dense manifolds and skid packages, while the actuator housing is moulded in glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF) for protection against corrosive atmospheres and chemical splashes. Typical applications include chemical dosing, industrial and demineralised water treatment, electroplating, surface finishing and microelectronics lines where automated fail-safe operation and corrosion resistance are required.
