The DIASTAR Ten ABS FC pneumatic diaphragm valve from Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) delivers precise flow regulation together with fail-safe to close shut-off for process lines that must isolate when control air is lost. The body is moulded in ABS, gravel grey RAL 7001, and covers metric solvent socket sizes d20 to d63 (DN15 to DN50) at a nominal pressure of PN10, 10 bar at 20 degrees Celsius.

A pre-stressed internal spring pack drives the diaphragm to a fully closed position as soon as pneumatic control pressure drops, so the line section stays isolated during an air or power failure. Typical duties are industrial cooling circuits, chilled water distribution, water treatment plant, marine installations and drinking water systems.

The optimised internal weir contour provides up to double the flow capacity of earlier diaphragm valve generations, with kv values from 125 l/min at d20 to 1728 l/min at d63. The higher hydraulic efficiency limits turbulence, cuts pressure loss along the run and lowers the energy demand of circulation pumps on high-throughput cooling loops.

Servicing is simplified by a single central housing union nut in place of the four or six bolt bonnet pattern used previously: the diaphragm can be inspected or replaced without special torque wrenches and without the risk of uneven clamping. The pneumatic control port rotates through 90 degrees, so air tubing can be routed freely inside tight skids and crowded pipe racks.

The actuator housing is glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF) with stainless steel fasteners, and diaphragms are available in EPDM or PTFE/FKM for broad chemical compatibility.
