Weld-On 747 Fast-Setting PVC Solvent Cement for Pool and Spa

Weld-On 747 is a medium-bodied, extremely fast-setting, high-strength PVC solvent cement engineered for pool, spa and aquatic piping systems. The formulation is based on high-strength synthetic resins and supports rapid joint assembly across all schedules and classes of rigid and flexible PVC pipe and fittings. BigWeld supplies it as an authorised Weld-On dealer for Europe, for water circulation networks and filtration installations where joint integrity is critical.

Optimised for wet conditions, quick emergency repairs and rapid system pressurisation, it keeps equipment downtime to a minimum. It forms durable interference-fit solvent-welded joints on rigid and flexible PVC piping up to 6 inches (160 mm) in diameter, and on Schedule 80 systems up to 4 inches (110 mm). A minimum dynamic viscosity of 500 cps provides adequate gap-filling capability without dripping or run-off from the joint.

The initial blue colour allows installers and site inspectors to verify uniform coverage on pipe spigots and fitting sockets; as the cement cures, the blue fades to clear, confirming joint completion and leaving a clean finish on exposed pipework. Specific gravity is 0.947 ± 0.04 and volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions are capped at 416 g/L. For maximum joint integrity, pipe ends must be cut square, chamfered and prepared with Weld-On Cleaner C65 before the cement is applied.

The cement is certified to ASTM D2564, NSF/ANSI 61 for potable water, IAPMO UPC, CSA B45.10, WRAS and GreenGuard Gold for low chemical emissions. Storage temperature is between 5 degrees C and 43 degrees C, with an unopened shelf life of 3 years. Supplied in 0.23 L and 0.47 L containers. This adhesive is intended strictly for liquid fluid conveyance and must never be used on compressed air or gas systems.
