GF Signet Type 2551 Magmeter flow measurement system with sensor, digital display, and output modules.

Electromagnetic Flow Meter Signet 2551 Magmeter DN15-DN900

The Georg Fischer Signet 2551 Magmeter is an insertion electromagnetic flow sensor engineered for accurate liquid measurement across industrial, water treatment, and distribution piping systems. Operating on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, the sensor has no moving parts to foul, wear, or coat, ensuring sustained operational reliability in fluids with minimum electrical conductivity. Designed for installation into pipe diameters from DN15 to DN900 (0.5 to 36 inches), this flow meter integrates into proprietary Signet installation fittings, facilitating rapid mounting and service without extensive line shutdowns.

The Type 2551 accommodates fluid velocities from 0.05 to 10 m/s (0.15 to 33 ft/s) and withstands operating pressures up to 10.3 bar at 25 degrees C (150 psi at 77 degrees F) with its robust polypropylene body structure. The instrument features built-in empty pipe detection, automatically outputting a zero-flow condition when electrodes are not completely submerged. The frequency output operates bi-directionally, whereas the 4 to 20 mA analog output can be configured for unidirectional or bidirectional flow using the display menu or the external 3-0250 USB setup interface.

Available in both blind and digital display versions, the 2551 Magmeter interfaces directly with PLCs, data loggers, or Signet multi-channel instrumentation, including the 8900, 9900, 9900-1BC, and 9950 transmitters. Operating on 5 to 24 VDC for frequency or 5 to 6.5 VDC for digital (S3L), it ensures low power draw and reliable signal transmission over long wiring runs. The display variant features auxiliary relays, permanent and resettable volume totalizers, and a multilingual menu interface.

As an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, BigWeld provides complete process instrumentation, genuine fittings, and technical piping support. The Signet 2551 delivers reliable, maintenance-free flow monitoring in chemical processing, cooling loops, and municipal water management.
