The Georg Fischer SYGEF Standard reducer SDR33 is an engineered thermoplastic polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) butt fusion fitting manufactured for diameter transitions within high-purity and corrosive chemical distribution piping networks. Produced via high-precision injection moulding from unpigmented, opaque PVDF homopolymer, this concentric fitting maintains laminar flow characteristics and minimizes pressure loss while preventing fluid stagnation across changes in pipe diameter. The component is rated for a continuous operating pressure of 10 bar (PN10) at ambient conditions and delivers dependable mechanical integrity over an operating service temperature spectrum spanning from -20 degrees to 140 degrees Celsius. Combining broad chemical inertness against concentrated mineral acids, oxidising agents, halogens, and aliphatic hydrocarbons, the fitting complies with rigorous purity standards including FDA 21 CFR 177.2510, USP 25 Class VI physiological non-toxicity, ASME BPE, DIBt, and cleanroom material classification FM-4910. Spigot ends are specifically proportioned for fusion joining using contactless infrared technology (IR Plus per DVS 2207-6), conventional butt fusion per DVS 2207-15, and bead and crevice free (BCF Plus) fusion for compatible sizes, assuring high-integrity joints and complete compatibility with automated welding machines. With an inner surface roughness of Ra less than or equal to 0.5 micrometres, the reducer resists microbial adhesion, biofilm buildup, and particle wash-off, making it suitable for pharmaceutical purified water (PW), deionized (DI) water, and semiconductor process chemical lines subjected to regular sanitisation with hot water, ozone, or chemical agents. Permanent embossed body marking includes the lot number, dimensions, pressure class, and standard approvals to ensure full material traceability across the service life.
