Pool Pipe PVC-U PN10
Rigid PVC-U pipe PN10 is engineered for pressurised fluid transport in commercial and residential swimming pool systems, water treatment plants and professional irrigation networks. Manufactured from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride, it combines high mechanical rigidity with dimensional stability across demanding piping layouts, and is available with metric outside diameters of 50 mm and 63 mm.
The nominal working pressure of 10 bar (PN10) is defined at a reference temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, with de-rating applied at elevated temperatures. Within this envelope the pipe provides dependable containment for recirculating pool water, filtration loops and backwash lines. Its unplasticised formulation prevents plasticiser leaching, preserving structural strength and media purity throughout extended operational lifecycles.
The smooth internal bore reduces hydraulic friction and head loss, allowing circulation pumps to operate at peak efficiency with lower energy consumption, while the same wall finish inhibits the accumulation of limescale, biofilm and chemical deposits so volumetric flow rates remain consistent. PVC-U offers high chemical resistance to aggressive pool treatment media — dissolved chlorine, ozone, saline chlorination solutions and water balancing chemicals — as well as to atmospheric ultraviolet exposure, and is immune to electrochemical corrosion, eliminating any risk of rust or wall thinning.
Joining is carried out by solvent cement socket welding: the pipe is cut cleanly, chamfered and bonded with cements such as Tangit, forming a homogeneous, permanent chemical bond between the spigot and matching PVC-U fittings, with rapid pressure readiness. The metric outside diameters ensure exact compatibility with standard industrial valves, check valves and pump manifolds. Supplied across Europe by BigWeld, authorised Georg Fischer distributor, this pressure pipe gives engineers and pool builders a durable, leak-tight fluid handling solution.
