The Georg Fischer ELGEF Plus 45 degrees PE100 spigot elbow (SDR17, long version) is an injection-moulded thermoplastic fitting engineered for high-integrity directional changes in municipal and industrial distribution piping networks. Designed specifically for pressurized water (PN10 / 10 bar) and natural gas (PN5 / 5 bar) utilities, this fitting is produced from virgin PE100 resin approved by the PE100+ Association. Distributed across Europe by BigWeld, an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, the ELGEF Plus long-pattern elbow covers nominal outer diameters from d90 mm up to d315 mm (DN80 to DN300), offering full compatibility with electrofusion couplers and conventional butt-welding machinery.

The extended spigot geometry features an insertion length (L) ranging from 81 mm to 150 mm and center-to-end dimensions (z) from 120 mm to 250 mm, allowing sufficient clamping clearance and optimal thermal fusion zones for electrofusion jointing. Wall thicknesses (e) scale precisely from 5.4 mm to 18.7 mm to match standard SDR17 piping dimensions, ensuring smooth hydraulic flow without unwanted internal cavitation or localized stress concentration. The raw PE100 compound provides superior mechanical robustness, exhibiting a density of approximately 0.95 g/cm³, a tensile yield stress of 25 N/mm² at 23°C, and a Charpy notch impact strength of 13 kJ/m² at -40°C.

Manufactured in full conformity with European utility standards EN 12201 (water supply) and EN 1555 (gaseous fuels), this fitting holds leading international accreditations including DVGW, KIWA, and SVGW. The fitting supports joining via electrofusion fittings as well as butt fusion procedures according to DVS 2207-1 and infrared (IR) welding protocols.
