The Type 039 wafer-style butterfly valve is an automated flow-control assembly fitted with a double-acting (DA) CN pneumatic actuator and configured for large-diameter process and utility lines from DN350 to DN1200. The double-acting actuator drives the disc in both directions, delivering fast cycle times, smooth rotation and balanced torque output on the opening and the closing stroke. The valve therefore covers bi-directional shut-off and throttling duty in industrial plants, water treatment facilities, cooling circuits and heavy piping infrastructure, wherever operation is commanded remotely or in sequence rather than by hand.

The body is cast from ASTM A 395 ductile iron and works with an epoxy-coated ductile iron disc; the coating gives continuous corrosion resistance against aggressive ambient conditions and flow media. Internal sealing is provided by a high-grade elastomeric liner available in EPDM or FKM, chosen according to the temperature range and the chemical compatibility of the fluid. The disc is driven by a rugged two-piece shaft in DIN 1.4021 martensitic stainless steel, machined with a precision keyway profile for positive torque transmission without backlash or mechanical play under continuous cyclic operation. The same two-piece arrangement keeps the bore clear, maximising flow capacity and minimising pressure drop across the disc.

Face-to-face dimensions follow EN 558 series 20 and ISO 5752, so the wafer body clamps compactly between pipe flanges without taking up additional axial pipeline length, while the rigid assembly supports a long service life on continuously cycled lines. Liner material and nominal diameter are selected per order.
