The Type 039 DA is a wafer-style metal butterfly valve built for large-bore flow control, covering DN350 to DN1200 with an integrated double-acting pneumatic actuator. It is specified for on-off duty and throttling in industrial utility lines, water treatment plants and process networks, where the wafer body clamps directly between standard metric flanges and keeps installed length and assembly weight to a minimum under continuous service.

The body is cast in ASTM A 395 ductile iron and finished with a protective powder epoxy coating that resists corrosion and environmental exposure. The flow path carries an uncoated DIN 1.4408 stainless steel disc, selected for chemical resistance, mechanical durability and low disturbance of the flow profile. Shut-off is handled by an elastomeric liner, supplied in EPDM as standard or in FKM on request where media compatibility demands it. Torque is transmitted through a two-piece DIN 1.4021 stainless steel shaft with keyway connection, which removes backlash and slippage during frequent pneumatic cycling.

Working pressure is rated at 4 bar. Face-to-face dimensions follow EN 558 series 20 and ISO 5752, so the valve drops into existing standardised spacing, and the bolt circle matches metric EN 1092 PN10 flanges. The double-acting actuator uses compressed air for both the opening and the closing stroke, giving fast travel times, uniform torque output and repeatable cycles in automated utility and process piping.
