The Georg Fischer WR 200S is a welding monitoring and data logging unit built for manually operated hydraulic butt fusion machines. It guides the operator through every phase of the fusion cycle in strict accordance with DVS, UNI, WIS and ISO welding standards, and continuously validates the parameters that decide joint quality: heating plate temperature, bead-up height, heating soak time, changeover time, pressure build-up and cooling duration under pressure. The unit covers PE-HD, polypropylene (PP) and polybutylene (PB) pressure piping on utility and industrial sites.

The recorder is housed in a robust, weather-resistant plastic enclosure rated to IP 65, shielding the internal electronics against fine dust ingress and low-pressure water jets in open trenches. Operation is specified from -10 degrees C to +50 degrees C, so the unit stays dependable through winter pipelaying as well as summer heat. An internal rechargeable battery provides up to 10 hours of autonomy, covering a full welding shift without a permanent generator connection. For rental fleets, the integrated Rent Guardian function allows programmable rental periods and a security lock on the machine.

Traceability is the core function. The WR 200S stores up to 250 complete welding protocols in non-volatile internal memory. Each dataset records pipe material, outside diameter, wall thickness or SDR rating, machine drag pressure, target and actual cycle pressures, heating and cooling times, operator identification and GPS coordinates for GIS mapping. Protocols are exported through the integrated USB Type-A port as TXT or CSV files, feeding quality assurance documentation directly from the jobsite.
