The Georg Fischer Type 167 electrically actuated 3-way ball valve handles automated flow routing and diverting duties in industrial piping installations. Its horizontal L-port ball configuration covers metric sizes from d16 to d63 mm (DN10 to DN50) at a nominal pressure rating of 10 bar (PN10) at 20 degrees Celsius. The electric actuator runs on a 24V supply (50–60 Hz) with a pre-set 90 degrees rotational control range. In the standard factory setting, the basic position keeps flow open between ports A and C, while the activated position redirects flow between ports B and C; operating positions can be reconfigured on site by resetting the internal limit switches. An internal heating element counters condensation in cold or humid environments, and electrical position feedback (Open, Close, Middle) together with a continuous mechanical position indicator reports valve status to the control system.

The unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) body provides high chemical resistance to inorganic acids, alkalis and saline solutions. Stainless steel threaded mounting inserts in the valve base allow rigid fastening to pipe supports or equipment skids, so torsional load is not transferred into the pipework. True union ends are joined by solvent cementing and let the valve be serviced without dismantling the adjacent pipe sections.

The Type 167 platform also accepts modular electronic expansion: a fail-safe battery return unit for emergency shut-off, a digital position controller, a monitoring board and a Profibus DP communication module. The result is a low-maintenance routing solution for chemical dosing, industrial utilities and automated process applications.
