Georg Fischer SYGEF Standard SDR21 PN16 pipes are engineered for demanding high-purity distribution and aggressive chemical process systems, manufactured from unpigmented polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) across metric outer diameters from d16 mm to d225 mm (DN10 to DN200) in rigid 5-meter lengths. Developed to maintain mechanical strength and structural integrity under rigorous thermal and chemical stresses, the pipe operates across an extended service temperature range of -20 degrees Celsius to 140 degrees Celsius with a nominal pressure class of 16 bar at 20 degrees Celsius. Extrusion includes a controlled thermal annealing stage that lowers residual internal stresses to 2.5 N/mm² or below, preventing long-term stress cracking, distortion, and ovality changes. The bore features an extruded smooth surface finish with an average roughness of Ra ≤ 0.5 micrometers, minimizing boundary layer friction, preventing particulate adhesion, and curbing bacterial growth in clean utility loops. The system supports multiple jointing technologies, including socket fusion for d16 mm, conventional butt fusion according to DVS 2207-15, contact-free infrared fusion (IR Plus), and bead and crevice-free (BCF Plus) joining for homogeneous, leak-tight connections. Highly inert PVDF polymer provides broad chemical resistance against concentrated mineral acids, oxidizing agents, halogens, inorganic salts, and aliphatic hydrocarbons, enduring rigorous sanitization cycles using steam, hot water, ozone, or chemical agents. Compliant with ISO 10931 dimensional requirements, FDA CFR 21 177.2510, physiological non-toxic USP 25 Class VI, ASME BPE, DIBt, and FM-4910 cleanroom material listings, each pipe length is capped, individually bagged, and permanently embossed with dimensional, pressure, and lot number details for comprehensive traceability across pharmaceutical, semiconductor, and industrial processing installations.
