Butt fusion end cap PVDF SDR21 PN16

Butt fusion end cap PVDF SDR21 PN16

Material: PVDF PN: 16 Bar

  Data sheet.pdf

This standard PVDF end cap (SDR21 / PN16) is an injection-moulded thermoplastic fitting engineered for permanently closing pipe branches in demanding industrial fluid networks. Manufactured from unpigmented, high-density polyvinylidene fluoride (SYGEF Standard line by Georg Fischer), this component provides safe isolation in piping systems carrying aggressive chemicals, high-temperature media, and high-purity water. The fitting is rated for a nominal working pressure of 16 bar (PN16) at 20 degrees C and maintains exceptional mechanical integrity over an operating temperature spectrum ranging from -20 degrees C to +140 degrees C.

The fluoropolymer material exhibits outstanding chemical inertness against harsh oxidising acids, including concentrated nitric acid up to 65%, sulphuric acid up to 96%, and hydrochloric acid up to 30%, alongside wide compatibility with organic acids, salts, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and industrial alcohols. With a crystalline melting temperature above 175 degrees C, high yield stress of at least 48 N/mm², and a smooth internal surface roughness of Ra ≤ 0.5 μm, the fitting prevents encrustation, bacterial colonisation, and flow disruption, making it dependable for sanitisation cycles using steam or chemical oxidisers.

Designed with spigot ends conforming to ISO 10931 dimensional standards, this cap is fully compatible with conventional heated tool butt fusion according to DVS 2207 Part 15 and automated infrared (IR Plus) non-contact fusion per DVS 2207 Part 6. Thermal annealing during fabrication eliminates internal moulding stress (residual stress ≤ 2.5 N/mm²), ensuring maximum creep resistance and weld repeatability. As an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, BigWeld supplies authentic SYGEF industrial components with complete EN 10204 test certification for engineering compliance.
