The Georg Fischer ELGEF Plus rigid extension spindle is an engineered operating accessory designed for the direct actuation of buried polyethylene tapping valves and tapping tees in underground utility piping networks. Manufactured to integrate seamlessly with standard tapping valve mechanisms in municipal water distribution and natural gas grids, this rigid spindle system provides a reliable mechanical link from the underground pipe line up to the street surface box, facilitating effortless operation without ground excavation.

Constructed with high-durability materials engineered for aggressive soil conditions, the assembly features an outer protective casing made of UV-stabilized, high-density polyethylene. The top of the casing is fitted with an integrated anti-sand cap and dirt seal that effectively prevents the ingress of soil, grit, and surface runoff into the operating shaft mechanism. The internal torque transmission is delivered by a robust hot-dip galvanized square bar steel core (SW 12/14 mm), ensuring exceptional torsional strength and high corrosion resistance throughout decades of service.

The lower coupling sleeve is precisely dimensioned in durable PE to fit tapping valve heads securely. Fast and completely tool-free on-site assembly is achieved through an integrated stainless steel (grade 1.4301 / AISI 304) clip-pin and a rugged CJS400-15 cast bush mechanism, allowing installers to lock the spindle onto the valve securely within seconds. Available in standard pipe cover depths (H) of 0.75 m, 1.00 m, 1.25 m, and 1.50 m, with total spindle lengths from 0.43 m to 1.18 m, the ELGEF Plus rigid extension spindle guarantees safe, standard-compliant utility pipeline control in full compliance with EN 12201 and EN 1555 infrastructure requirements.
